Munich

Munich is located in the south of Germany being the centre of a large metropolitan region.  It offers a variety of cultural acitivities such as museums and galeries (Pinakothek), historic buildings and squares. The English Garden, the river Isar and the Bavarian Alps located in the south of Munich are great opportunities to do some outdoor activities. Shopping hours: Shops are generally open from 10:00 to 20:00, Monday through Saturdays, on Sundays shops are closed. Banks: Banks open from Monday to Friday around 9:00/10:00 and close around 18:00. Almost every bank has a 24-hours cash machine. Public transportation: The public transportation netwok covers the area of Munich quite well which makes a fast travel by suburban rail, underground, tram or bus within the city and into the region possible. Herrsching

Herrsching is known as the “gateway to Lake Ammersee” for Munich and the surrounding area because the S-Bahn (train line S8) runs right into the heart of the friendly Upper Bavarian community.
